The CitraPac^® Story

It all began during a short familiar stroll across an old wooden platform overlooking a large conveyor filled with tumbling oranges. It was the Fall of 1996, with the harvesting of deliciously ripe fresh fruit and packing in full swing. A young manager watched rows of oranges illuminated by the fluorescent lighting roll through a grading station. He was looking for imperfections, surface scars, and all those things a good grocery shopper would avoid when selecting premium fruit. At that moment the realization struck. No matter how perfect and beautiful this fruit would look in the supermarket produce display, modern consumers wanted easy, fast, ready-to-eat foods, not the messy work of cutting and preparing these fresh oranges. He set out that day to find a better way.

In the summer of 2002, three industrious young men began an intense research and development project in an empty warehouse near the edge of town in Dundee, Florida. Their dream was to create a fabulous new product line from the very basic component of citrus - th single fruit cells from the inside of the citrus segments. No other company in the world had ever created such a product or system. With a steadfast determination, some divine intervention and assistance from partners and friends, they did it!

Today, the dream is a reality at CitraPac^®. Our company now markets unique, great-tasting, safe and storable products known as Fruit Pearls^®, Citrus Pearls^® and Lemon Pearls^®. Together, our CitraPac^® team is indeed changing the way the world eats citrus!
